Beautiful Days is an English conversation text for adults. The content is based on English grammar introduced in the first year of Jr. High in the Japanese public eduction system, and is a companion text to our Good Times series. Material introduced in Beautiful Days runs parallel to English grammar that students will encounter in Jr. High and in the Good Times series. The ‘grammar-focused’ lessons at school have been transformed to ‘conversation-focused’.
We developed the Beautiful Days series so that parents (or any adult) may be equipped to use English with their children. We believe that the best learning takes place outside of the classroom in natural settings. The conversation content of Beautiful Days focuses on adult themes, whereas Good Times focuses on school life.
Each unit (ten total) begins with a conversation. The conversation introduces, and provides context for, all the language functions. After mastering the opening conversation, students then work on various language functions.
Beautiful Days is a ‘false beginner’ text book, and assumes that students already have had some experience with English.
